Today was a long day of Assessments in the Port Glasgow /Greenock / Bridge of Weir Area and we were not disappointed when finding this place in the beautiful little Nook of Kilmacolm . Kilmacolm sits in an elevated position overlooking the Clyde and is surrounded by rolling Hills . Inverclyde is in fact its real title and it lies on the Northern slope of the Gryffe Valley.  On entering Wild Flour Restaurant you are instantly hit with a bright ,Airy and almost continental feel to this lovely eaterie. The huge spotlessly clean Cake display hits you as you enter and the cakes were beautifully presented each cut and displayed to perfection. Careen and Mathew have changed the style and opening times now to accomodate their great menu in the daytime. Along with the frequent Pop- up Evenings  they keep their evening clientele happy too. Anyhow i digress , The CAKES - ohhh the CAKES . I tried Empire biscuits,Madelienes, Treacle and Cinammon Scones ,Florentines and for me the star of the show was A Chocolate Ameretti Slice - This was just heaven. Although i have to say each and every Cake/Slice/Scone was just PERFECT Baking and this was down mostly to Careens sister - JEAN . Jean is the most glamorous looking baker i have seen in a working environment ,simply beautiful lady . Again i was taken aback with the standard of Baking here and my quest never ceases to surprise me . Congratulations to Mathew,Careen,Jean and all their lovely staff at Wild Flour- Kilmacolm
