The meringue Place
Units 1-2 Riverside Workshops
Jedburgh TD8 6EE

Today was a busy day for assessments in the Scottish Borders and quite disappointing until stumbling across a small board sign on the main road simply stating "Soup and yummy cakes" . Now, when we turned in where the arrow told us it looked like an industrial estate with shop units -which it was ,but never judge a book by its cover i say . In through the arch of the Meringue Place and you are transported into CAKE heaven. I decided to stay and try the soup as the cakes just looked to good to be in and out in our usual haste. The Lentil and ham (off the bone) soup was simply devine but to be served with a simply stunning herby scone was heavenly. We were then bombarded with an array of samples (Full size portions i may add) to try .Here goes - The carrot cake was light and fluffy ,the meringues powdery the way i, in the minority like them ,the Lemon and fresh cream roulade was one i had not tried before and was as tart as it gets - to die for !! The flys graveyard excellent as was the coconut and chocolate crispie slice. Now i could go on and on about the extensive display of quite simply excellent cakes but please dont just take my word for it .go and see Sharon herself ,this lady used to supply Asda and Baxters and then in her wisdom decided to set up her own place.A very unique and unusual "place " but well worth the wait today .Well done Sharon and her young team.
