Elgin
This cafe was busy when we arrived and actually is situated in Lossiemouth -Home to the RAF. A fantastic spot right on the harbour with sail boats floating in and out. With tables outside as well as in we still managed to grab a table.Next door to the Cafe is a well stocked gift shop if you need to wait for a table -Which is worth waiting for. I introduced myself and was promptly handed a large plate of lovely homemade cakes to sample. The young man i spoke to was very helpful and keen to inform me of the two bakers involved . The carrot cake was simply devine as was the bakewell and brownie. I would highly recommend this cafe for excellent young and attentive staff and excellent homebaking within a beautiful location.Well done Harbour Lights.

We had a great weekend in the Cairngorms and our last stop of the day was in Elgin and the lovely Bijou Gift Shop and Coffee Shop . You climb the beautiful spiral staircase to the Coffee shop and enter a bright airy room full of modern tables and chairs. There is a gift section in this part of the shop to keep you interested until your food arrives. The huge display cabinet is bursting at the seams with every type of Meringue ,Biscuit,Scones and Cake . I tried a lovely moist Gingerbread and Gypsy Cream which were quite exceptional. The choice is very good though and there would definitely be something for everyones tastes including a gluten free range . The lovely Lorna explained to me how a New Bijou by the sea had just opened this week in Buckie and this also will serve all Homenade cakes made on the premises . I must try this soon as Bijou is one not to miss when in Elgin. Well done .
