The Wishing Well in Gartness was assessed today by Melanie and what a beautiful day for a drive through stunning countryside. This lovely place it seems is in the middle of nowhere except rolling hills and rivers but once you arrive its a bustling eaterie with an adjoined gift shop . The tables and decor are very farmhouse style and comfortable.The waiting staff were attentive without being intrusive. I had a lovely homemade crepe and one of the nicest and freshest salads i have ever tasted. The Homebaking was set out on a table to view on entering the restuarant so i knew exactly what i wanted. Unfortunately my arrival was unannounced so no sample cakes were offered ,but being me i purchased 5 and my friend had a normal "one." Every single cake sampled was excellent Homebaking and fresh fresh fresh!! My friend had a warm Homemade scone with jam and cream and this also could not be faulted.All in all a great place to sample excellent Homebaking and browse some unusual gifts for friends or family.
