Today was a beautiful day for a drive down to the Kintyre Peninsula and onwards to the end at Southend near Campbeltown. Muneroy Cafe and Store is a very much needed facility here in this remote but  stunning backdrop of rolling hills and crashing waves . Mull of Kintyre is all but a few minutes by car away . On entering Muneroy i was welcomed with the most gorgeous open coal fire and the smell of fresh Baking . The display cabinets housed all the kind of memorabilia and china that my gran had in her home . I just loved the feel of this Cafe and then i was met with the most unassuming and talented lady of the the manor - Francis Hill- Baker extraordinaire !! Francis and her husband have both run this Cafe/Store for over 22 years and they still have a passion for what they do which is evident in francis Baking. Her creativity and sense of humour that she puts into her cakes is a breath of fresh air. I had a plethera of cakes to try not least one of the biggest and best Fresh Cream meringues  i have had in a long while .A worthy Award was given to francis on the spot .  I cant wait to come back to where the mist rolls in from the sea - sorry couldnt resist that !!
