Today was a lovely day for a drive through Loch Lomond and into Alexandria .Chantilly Lace was the first of my stops today and i arrived just in time to join the owner Eileen at her well earned lunch.Chantilly Lace snuggles in between many shops in Alexandrias main Street and is a refreshing change into the "Olde Worlde " charm of the early Victorian era.Bone china teacups and crockery adorn the tables and beautiful swaying lace on the walls, windows and tables. The afternoon tea is served on the traditional 3 Tiered plates and well priced. I was offered quite a selection of samples including a most unusual Coca cola and Chocolate cake -very good. I also tasted some Homebaking from Eileens daughter as she now has learned to bake from her mum . The iced gingerbread bun was one of the best i have ever tasted. This intrepid duo have created a lovely refreshing change to the surroundings in which they lie and i for one will be back .
